Pankow
 
Today's Pankow extends from Alexanderplatz to the northern city boundary and comprises the historical districts of Prenzlauer Berg, Pankow and Weissensee which were merged into Berlin's most populous district following local government reform. The district is as varied as the city itself, the same applies to the Pankow economy: In the south of the district, in the trendy quarter of Prenzlauer Berg the focus is on information technology and media industry, commerce, catering and tourism, while northern Pankow with the clinic location and Berlin-Buch Research Campus, is rapidly developing into a dynamic healthcare region and the leading biotechnology location in Germany. In addition, the district offers good opportunities for traditional craft industries, commerce and other businesses. As an economic location the northern part of Pankow has effective motorway and highway connections. In addition, the whole district has excellent public transport connections and is located close to Tegel airport.
