Ever since its construction the area around the regional, intercity and S-Bahn (suburban railway) station Südkreuz is extremely busy: over the last years, the former no-man's land has developed into an attractive quarter with businesses of all kinds.Originally, this complex of buildings was constructed in 1905/1908 for the company Mix & Genest, which produced electronic news equipment and letter chutes. In 1973, GSG took over and extensively renovated the five yards of this industrial complex. In 2006, the complex was extended by an attic floor construction. The results are 44 modern office areas with generous window fronts and rooms between 38 and 120sqm. A total of 115 industrial units in the form of workshops, offices, industrial spaces and production facilities are located on this complex with excellent traffic connections. Two companies offering vocational training have set-up in the Geneststraße 5-6. A highlight is the special feature of the attic storey: it has a lino floor and inside sunscreen. Furthermore, staircase G has a service center with reception, conference rooms and office services.
